What a CrossFit class looks like
Every session is about 60 minutes and fully coached from the first minute to the last. You'll move through a warm-up, a strength or skill focus, the workout of the day (the "WOD"), and a cool-down. Because our programming is constantly varied (new workouts written daily), you build well-rounded, real-world fitness instead of grinding the same routine into a plateau.
What sets a great CrossFit gym apart isn't the equipment. It's the coaching. At East Coast, a coach is on the floor every class to teach the movements, correct your form, and dial the intensity up or down so the workout challenges you without overwhelming you.
Scaled for every fitness level
This is the part most people worry about, so let's be clear: you do not need to be in shape to start. Every movement and every workout is scalable. A brand-new member and a seasoned athlete can do the same class on the same day. The weights, reps, and movements are simply adjusted to match each person. You'll never be thrown into the deep end.
- Strength: squats, presses, deadlifts and Olympic lifts built up safely over time
- Conditioning: rowing, biking, running and bodyweight work that builds real endurance
- Skill: gymnastics and movement quality coached step by step
Who our classes are for
People in Danvers, Peabody, Beverly and across the North Shore come to East Coast for different reasons: losing weight, getting stronger, keeping up with their kids, training for a sport, or simply feeling like themselves again. What they have in common is that they wanted coaching and community, not a lonely treadmill. If that's you, you'll fit right in.
New to CrossFit?
If you've never done CrossFit before, we'll start you with our Foundations on-ramp so you learn the core movements at your own pace before jumping into a busy class. Prefer one-on-one attention? Ask about personal training.
